Call for Papers

Enterprise Modeling and Information Systems Architectures · May 13–14, 2027 · Aachen, Germany

Submission Categories

Following the established EMISA tradition, the workshop will invite submissions in the following categories:

Novel Directions
Short papers (up to 6 pages) presenting novel and visionary research ideas, emerging topics, and new research agendas.
PhD Research Proposals
Short papers (up to 5 pages) describing ongoing PhD theses — motivation, goals, status, and future plans. At the workshop, the PhD students will have the chance to present their thesis and receive feedback on it in a dedicated session. Note that the three best submissions in this category are awarded a travel grant up to 600€ by the GI-SIG EMISA.
Current Research Talks
Extended abstracts (up to 2 pages) for talks on work already published or accepted at international venues, submitted for broader community discussion.
Idea Talk Proposals
Proposals (short paper of up to 2 pages) for short talks that present a visionary research idea, which might not be fully fleshed out yet, with the goal of receiving feedback on how to further develop that idea.

Best Master's Thesis Award

EMISA will award the best master’s theses on topics related to Enterprise Modeling and Information Systems Architecture 500€. To be eligible, the defense must have taken place in 2026. Submissions must be made via HotCRP, either by the student or the supervisor, by 18.01.2027, and must include a two-page summary as well as the corresponding thesis evaluation. The awards will be presented during EMISA.
